Dec 12, 2009 - It's a french expression that is used in english nowadays, it means we hope people enjoy their meal. It means: "Buen provecho" in spanish.

Dec 18, 2009 - Isn´t " I want the menu" a rude expression? Isn´t it necessary to say: MAY I HAVE THE MENU instead¿

Aug 19, 2010 - Many of these phrases were rather awkward, or used words that weren't quite right:We'd like to ask from the menu==> We'd like to ORDER from the menuHow many people are you==> How many people are there? bufet= buffetcould you bring some snacks to start?= You wouldn't say this unless you were at a bar. In a restaurant, you would ask for bread or appetizers (small dishes before the main meal)

Aug 19, 2010 - How do you serve this food= This is really vague. If someone asks this, they're usually asking about things that come with the food (side dishes) but I think you mean "How is this cooked/How is this prepared"Would you like to order any dessert: The "any" sounds awkward.Give me the check please= sounds rude. "May I have/could you bring the check please?" sounds nicerDo you need an invoice?= I think you mean receipt, not invoice.
